Cold Laser.

"So What Is 'Cold Laser Therapy'?"

Basically, Cold Laser Therapy can do many things. It can speed up recovery from a recent injury to a ligament, tendon or muscle. It can reduce pain and swelling and even promotes healing. For instance, injury to a muscle leaves behind residual scar tissue. Cold Laser Therapy or treatment can help soften scar tissue. Cold Laser Therapy can treat a variety of conditions. Acute, chronic or post operative pain, as well as arthritis, tendon/ligament problems, carpal tunnel, nerve root irritations, back/neck dysfunction, tennis elbow, burns, even herpes lesions and a variety of other skin conditions.

So how does the laser work?

Well, the laser is really a light or photon energy with the unique property of being able to penetrate up to two inches below the skin surface. It actually causes an increase in cellular metabolism with no tissue damage whatsoever. Your body absorbs and utilizes this light emitted from the cold laser in the same way the chain of photosynthesis reaction in plants uses light. The basic principal is that the energy in the soft laser beam can be incorporated into the natural process of the living body.

The average treatment can be as little as a few minutes. Treatments are rapid and painless. You see, low power lasers do not generate heat. When the laser contacts your skin, you won't even experience warmth or burning. Although the light may stimulate certain nerves, most people feel nothing during the treatment. The cold laser is the most modern form of therapy. Cold Laser Therapy is quickly becoming the first line of attack in pain control and tissue healing in rehabilitation medicine. It is safe, painless, quick and easy to apply.
